Thanks for the submission about patterns and matchbox cars, Sophie.

I think of pattern recognition as a premath skill and even a prereading skill, as the child is scanning patterns just as he will one day learn to scan a page for letters and words that he recognizes.

Keep up with those fun preschool math activities. You are teaching your son wonderful skills without him even knowing it!
